Tarmacing Process;

The tarmac is laid in two layers – the first layer is a base and this is where we can reuse your existing drive through recycling. The top layer is called the “wearing course”. We roll the base layer with a roller until the roller doesn’t make a mark. After this we lay the top course which has smaller grains so there is a better looking and harder finish.

Our tarmac drives will be usable within an hour but we recommend care for the first two weeks, for example not turning your car wheels whilst stationary. If necessary it will be possible in the future for the drive to be rejuvenated by skimming the wearing course and re-laying, something not possible to a crumbling concrete drive. This process is known as ‘overlay’ and can be considered as a 'makeover', perhaps for selling a property.
